Bulgaria's capital, Sofia, together with the rest of the eastern Orthodox world, pays tribute to the Holy martyr Sofia and her three daughters Faith, Hope and Love.
Sofia however did not take its name from this holy martyr, but bears the name of its ancient church Saint Sofia – a symbol of the Divine Wisdom.
